Background:
We are a group of about 2-30 folks, depending on the day, and have filed with the Federal Elections Commission as a Political Action Committee.

WHY GET OUT THE VOTE?
Many groups of people in our country don't vote. Voting is a road into other forms of engagement. We think an engaged citizenry is a good thing.

We want to empower people to vote. No one knows everything about every issue, but everyone probably knows enough to have an opinion on issues that are important to them. If something is important to you, then you should engage.

Do More Than Vote Video Project
Part of our process is to educate ourselves. In the summer of '06, we traveled to Congressional Districts that were "in-play" to talk to folks, learn about the issues and try to figure out why the people who are not going to vote are not going to vote and how we might be able to encourage them to do so. We produced the Do More Than Vote short video for our sister organization http://www.domorethanvote.org that shows what we learned.
